Wei Li obtained her LL.B. (Hons) from the Queen’s University of Belfast in 2016. She was subsequently admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2019 after completing her Certificate in Legal Practice.

Wei Li’s area of practice encompasses civil, commercial, corporate and construction disputes.

NOTABLE TRANSACTIONS

  • Acting for a main contractor in an arbitration dispute involving the Malacca River Rehabilitation and Beautification Project.

  • Acting for a subcontractor in a dispute with the main contractor involving a megamall development project in Southkey, Johor.

  • Defended an arbitral centre in the first constitutional challenge on the statutory adjudication regime and against its immunity as an international organization.

  • Acted for a strategic development company and its fiduciaries in a suit against a fugitive businessman and his accomplices for fraud, breach of trust and conspiracy.

  • Acted for a property holding company against the national oil company and one of the State Governments in Malaysia concerning the acquisition of 2,800 acres of land.

  • Conducted investigations into allegations of fraud by employees and bias in workplace.
